"And the Lord said to Joshua, Do not fear and do not be dismayed."

One very common command in the bible is "do not fear." Especially in the Old Testament, the literal translation of "fear" means "to run." Take this into consideration - God may not be asking you to not "feel" afraid, but what He may be asking you is to not run from what He's placed in your path.
